Reverse description The Bavarian electoral coat of arms, comprising a quartered shield displaying the lozengy field of Bavaria and the lion of the Palatinate, is prominently displayed at centre and surmounted by an Electoral bonnet crown. The shield is encircled by the collar chain of the Order of the Golden Fleece. Two rampant lions serve as heraldic supporters, one on each side of the shield, facing inward. The date 1775 appears in the exergue beneath the central armorial composition, flanked by decorative foliate ornaments.
