| Obverse description | Central field displays a quartered heraldic shield bearing the arms of Hungary (barry of eight) and the arms of Castile and Leon (castle and lion), with the Austrian fess in base and a small eagle in the lower right quarter, all surmounted by an imperial crown with elaborate finials. The shield is set within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin legend running between the inner and outer beaded borders. The die-engraving is executed in a bold late-Gothic style characteristic of the Hall mint under Maximilian I. |

| Reverse description | Full-length frontal figure of the Blessed Leopold III, patron saint of Austria, shown crowned and bearded, wearing imperial robes, holding a long sceptre or staff in his left hand and a model of a church or monastery in his right hand, a reference to the Abbey of Klosterneuburg which he founded. A small heraldic eagle device appears to the upper left of the figure. The Latin legend encircles the design between two beaded borders, invoking Leopold as a divine patron. The engraving is bold and characteristic of early sixteenth-century Habsburg die-cutting at the Hall in Tyrol mint. |
