| Obverse description | Central device consists of an ornate oval cartouche bearing the quartered coat of arms, with the Salzburg bishopric arms in the upper half and the Hohenems family arms in the lower half. Below the shield, a pontifical cross is surmounted by a cardinal's legate hat with pendant tassels. A circular Latin legend commences at approximately the 2 o'clock position and reads MARC SIT D G AREPS SAL AP S L, identifying the issuing archbishop. |
