Obverse description Crowned effigy of Louis XII facing left, depicted as a draped bust with shoulder-length hair beneath a fleur-de-lis-ornamented crown. The portrait is rendered in a late Gothic Italian style characteristic of the Asti mint. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the effigy within the coin's border, reading LVDOVICVS D G FRANCOR REX.
