| Reverse description | The reverse bears an eight-line Latin inscription entirely filling the field, commemorating the birth and death of Louis Christian of Stolberg-Wernigerode. The text records his birth at Ilsenburg on 25 March 1650 and his death at the same location on 9 November 1710. The inscription is set in bold Roman capital letters with clear word spacing and punctuation, arranged in a stacked tablet format typical of German memorial ducats of the period. The mintmaster's initials I.I.G. appear in the final line. A fine toothed border frames the entire reverse. |
