Obverse description Crowned and armored full-length figure of Archduke Leopold V standing facing, holding a scepter in his right hand and an orb in his left, set within a beaded inner circle. The figure is rendered in the Gothic-influenced style characteristic of early seventeenth-century Austrian Habsburg coinage. The surrounding circular legend reads DIVVS LEOPOLDVS, distributed around the periphery of the field. The coin was struck by the hammered method, resulting in a slightly irregular flan typical of the period.
