Obverse description Draped laureate bust of Emperor Leopold I facing right, with flowing long hair and prominent Habsburg features. The emperor is depicted in elaborate armored dress with a lace cravat visible at the collar. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading clockwise within a beaded border. The portrait is rendered in the high Baroque style characteristic of Vienna Mint coinage of this period.

Reverse description The crowned imperial double-headed eagle of the House of Habsburg occupies the central field, its wings displayed and each head bearing a crown, with the elaborate quartered arms of Austria-Hungary on the breast shield. The date appears divided in the upper field to either side of the imperial crown. A circular Latin legend surrounds the design within a beaded border, citing the emperor's hereditary titles as Archduke of Austria, Duke of Burgundy, and Count of Tyrol. A small ornamental rosette appears at the base of the design below the eagle.
