| Obverse description | Draped bust of Archbishop Joseph Clemens of Bavaria facing right, wearing a richly ornamented ecclesiastical mantle adorned with ermine trim, his voluminous curled wig cascading over his shoulders in the late Baroque fashion. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail. The circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, interrupted at the base by the mintmaster initials FW. The overall composition is characteristic of the refined medallic art produced at the Bonn mint in the early eighteenth century. |
