Obverse description Draped bust of John III Sigismund facing right, depicted in elaborate armour with a ruffled collar and ornamental shoulder decoration, his hair rendered in fine parallel lines. The effigy is set within a beaded inner circle, with the abbreviated Latin legend distributed around the periphery. The portrait is executed in high relief in the characteristic early 17th-century German Renaissance style.
