Obverse description Half-length robed effigy of Elector Johann Georg III facing right, holding an upright sword in his right hand and the electoral cap in his left, all contained within a beaded inner circle. The bust is rendered in high relief with fine drapery detail characteristic of late 17th-century Saxon coinage. A Latin legend surrounds the effigy within the outer circle.

Reverse description Elaborately crowned Saxon electoral coat of arms, quartered and displayed within an ornate shield, flanked on either side by upright palm branches. The date appears in the upper field above the crown, and the mint-master's initials are placed in the lower exergual area. A Latin legend encircles the entire composition, referencing the Holy Roman Empire.
