| Obverse description | Armored bust of Duke John of Münsterberg-Oels facing right, depicted with a full beard and wearing a richly decorated cuirass with visible gorget, rendered in high relief typical of mid-16th century German hammered gold coinage. The effigy occupies the majority of the coin's field and is contained within a beaded inner circle. The circumferential Latin legend reads IOHAN.D.G.DVX.MVN.SL.OLS.CO.GLA, identifying the ruler by name and his titles as Duke of Münsterberg, Silesia, and Oels, and Count of Glatz. The irregular flan and characteristic die stress are consistent with hand-hammered production at the Reichenstein Mint. |
