Obverse description Central field dominated by a large ornate crowned ducal monogram composed of interlaced letters 'IE' (Ioannes Ernestus), surmounted by an archiepiscopal crown rendered in high relief. The monogram is elaborately intertwined in a baroque decorative style characteristic of late 17th-century German ecclesiastical coinage. The surrounding legend reads IOHANNES ERNESTUS D G ARCHIEP ET PRINC SAL, divided across the upper and lower periphery. The milled edge is clearly defined, and the overall design reflects the refined medallic artistry of the Salzburg Mint.
