The legend PATRONA surrounding the figure is arranged along the inner beaded border, with decorative stops separating the inscription. The artistic style reflects late medieval Hungarian-Transylvanian goldsmithing traditions, with fine detail in the drapery and throne.

Reverse description Quartered royal arms of János Zsigmond (John Sigismund) displayed within a shield at the centre of the field, incorporating the Hungarian double cross, Bohemian lion, and other dynastic heraldic elements. The date 1561 appears prominently above the shield. A Latin legend encircles the composition along the beaded border, identifying the ruler's titles. The engraving is executed in a bold, gothic-influenced style typical of mid-sixteenth-century Transylvanian coinage.
