Reverse description Full-length frontal figure of Saint Christopher, robed and bearded, striding through water while supporting the Christ Child on his right shoulder with his left hand and grasping a tall staff or palm tree trunk in his right hand. The Christ Child is depicted in a blessing posture above the saint's shoulder. The surrounding circular Latin legend reads MONE. AVR(E) REICHSTEN(I)., identifying this as the gold coinage of Reichenstein. The bold, high-relief rendering of the saint is consistent with the devotional iconographic tradition found on Silesian gold ducats of the sixteenth century.
