Obverse description Three-quarter-length armored effigy of Gábor Bethlen facing right, wearing elaborately decorated plate armor with a ruffled collar and a fur-trimmed cloak over one shoulder, holding a scepter in his right hand. The date 1622 is divided by the figure, with 16 to the left and 22 to the right. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait within a beaded inner border, reading: GAB·D·G·SAC·ROM·IM·ET·TRAN·PA·PAR.

Reverse description Crowned quartered coat of arms of Gábor Bethlen displayed within an ornate shield, featuring rampant eagles, a crescent, and other heraldic charges typical of the Bethlen arms, with a central rose or roundel at the point of intersection. The mint initials A·I (for Alba Iulia) flank the shield at the sides. A circular Latin legend surrounds the shield within a beaded border, reading: REGNI·HVN·DOM·SI·CO·AO·CO·PORATIBVX.
