| Reverse description | The Transylvanian coat of arms displayed within a central shield, featuring the eagle and the seven fortresses (turrium) of Transylvania, enclosed within a decorative beaded inner circle. Surrounding the shield is a crowned serpent or dragon biting its own tail (ouroboros-like device), itself encircled by the Latin legend ET. SICVLOR. COMES. PAR. REG. HVNG. DOM. (and Count of the Székelys, Lord of the Partium of the Kingdom of Hungary), with the mint date 1614 appearing in the upper field of the legend. The entire design is characteristic of the refined hammered gold coinage produced at the Alba Iulia mint. |
