(Translation: Frederik III Dei Gratia, King of Denmark, Norway ...)
Reverse description Central device consisting of an elaborate crowned royal cipher of Frederik III — composed of interlaced F and E letters forming a cross-shaped monogram — with the numeral 3 at the centre, surmounted by a royal crown and flanked by two ornate shields bearing the Danish arms. A smaller decorative shield or cartouche appears at the base of the monogram. The circular Latin legend surrounding the device reads VANDALORVM GOTHOR Q 1664, proclaiming Frederik III's sovereignty over the Vandals and Goths, with the date 1664 incorporated into the legend at the top. Dot stops punctuate the legend throughout.
