Obverse description Draped bust of King Frederik III facing right, wearing a laurel wreath and long flowing hair, occupying the central field. The date appears in the lower portion of the field beneath the bust. A continuous Latin legend encircles the portrait, separated from the inner field by a beaded inner border. The hammered strike imparts a characteristic unevenness to the flan, consistent with mid-17th century Danish gold coinage.
