Obverse description Armored and draped bust of Frederick William I facing right, wearing a full-bottomed curled wig and ornate cuirass with decorative gorget. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the baroque style. The encircling Latin legend reads FRID · WILH · D · G · REX · BORVSSIÆ, denoting the king's title by the grace of God as King of Prussia. The legend is distributed around the periphery of the coin field.

Reverse description Elaborately quartered royal coat of arms of the Kingdom of Prussia displayed on a baroque shield, surmounted by a large royal crown. The shield incorporates multiple heraldic quarters representing the various territories of the Hohenzollern realm, including the Prussian eagle and other dynastic arms. Below the shield in the exergue appear the mintmaster's initials HFH flanking the date 1714, separated by ornamental dots.
