| Reverse description | The quartered royal Danish coat of arms — displaying the three lions passant with nine hearts of Denmark, the lion rampant of Norway, and three crowns of Sweden — is depicted on a crowned shield, encircled by the collar of the Order of the Elephant. The date is split across the upper field flanking the crown, with the mint master's initials B H divided to either side of the shield. The circumferential Latin legend DOMINVS ⸰ MIHI ⸰ ADIVTOR (The Lord is my helper) runs around the outer border, separated by pellets. The overall composition is characteristic of the high Baroque heraldic style prevalent in early eighteenth-century Danish gold coinage. |
