| Obverse description | The obverse field is entirely occupied by a seven-line Latin dedicatory inscription in bold Roman capitals, recording the homage paid to Frederick III at Königsberg. Above the text, a large electoral crown flanked by crossed sceptres and laurel sprays occupies the upper portion of the field, serving as the principal decorative element. The inscription reads SUPREMO BORUSSIAE DUCI / FRIDERICO III / ELECT. BRAND. / HOMAGIUM PRAEST / REGIOMONTI / DIE XXIII MAI / MDCXC, commemorating the ceremony of 23 May 1690. The lettering varies in size, with FRIDERICO III rendered in the largest and most prominent characters at the centre. The coin has no portrait effigy, relying entirely on heraldic ornament and epigraphy to convey its commemorative purpose. |
