| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Frederick I, King of Prussia, facing right, his long curled wig falling over his armored shoulders. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Baroque court style typical of early eighteenth-century German coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the bust, reading FRIDERICVS D G REX BORVSSIAE ELECT BR, identifying the monarch as King of Prussia and Elector of Brandenburg by the grace of God. The rim is defined by a fine milled border of uniform dentils. |
