Obverse description Crowned and draped bust of Frederick Augustus III (Augustus III of Poland) facing right, wearing a royal crown adorned with pearls and cross fleury, his shoulders draped in an ermine-lined mantle with a decorative clasp at the chest. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the baroque style. The circumferential Latin legend reads D G AGVSTVS III REX POLONIARUM, denoting his title by the grace of God as King of Poland.
