Obverse description Draped bust of Frederick August II facing right, with long flowing curled wig, the truncation showing elaborate lace cravat. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the baroque style typical of Saxon coinage of the period. The encircling Latin legend reads D G FRID AUG REX POL DUX SAX I C M A & W, denoting his titles as King of Poland and Elector of Saxony. The legend is separated from the milled border by a plain field.
