Reverse description The reverse presents a six-line German legend in bold relief occupying the entire field, with the date 1701 inscribed below in the exergue area flanked by small decorative stops. Above the legend, two crossed mining hammers are depicted between a pair of small six-pointed stars, serving as the emblematic symbol of the Saxon mining industry. The inscription extols the virtues of rich ore yields with little expenditure, celebrating the prosperity of the Saxon miners. The milled edge border frames the design on all sides.
