Reverse description Crowned oval shield bearing the 11-fold quartered arms of Brunswick-Lüneburg, supported by elaborate mantling or decorative scrollwork, with the date appearing above the crown, all set within an inner beaded circle. The quarters display the heraldic charges of the constituent territories, including lions and other dynastic devices rendered in the engraving style typical of early seventeenth-century German hammered gold coinage. A Latin legend encircles the composition between the beaded and outer borders.
