| Obverse description | Two winged putti face each other across the upper field, each resting upon a heraldic shield; the left shield displays a double-headed imperial eagle and the right displays the quartered arms of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld, the two shields joined together in allusion to a dynastic marriage. The Latin legend CONIUNCTIO FELIX arcs across the upper periphery. The coin is struck within a fine milled border, and the overall composition is rendered in a delicate high-relief Baroque style. |
