Obverse description Laureate and bearded effigy of Emperor Francis Joseph I facing right, engraved in the younger portrait style by Josef Tautenhayn, with a laurel wreath tied at the back with a ribbon. The bust is finely detailed with rendered hair and a full beard characteristic of the emperor's early reign portraiture. The mint mark 'K.B.' appears in the lower field below the bust truncation, denoting the Kremnica mint. The circumferential legend in Hungarian reads 'FERENCZ JÓZSEF I . K . A . CS . ÉS . M . H . S . D . O . AP . KIR .' separated by raised dots, all contained within a beaded border.
