| Obverse description | Crowned bust of Ferdinand II facing left, depicted in the small-head style characteristic of the later Majorcan ducats of his reign. The king wears an elaborate crown and his hair falls in long locks over his neck. The effigy is rendered in a somewhat schematic late-Gothic manner typical of Iberian hammered gold coinage of the period. The legend encircles the bust within a beaded inner border, reading FERDINANDVS REX ARAGONVM. |
