Obverse description Full-length effigy of Emperor Ferdinand V standing facing right in royal regalia, wearing an ermine-lined mantle and the Hungarian apostolic crown upon his head. The monarch holds a sceptre in his right hand and the orb surmounted by a patriarchal cross in his extended left hand. The figure stands on a plain exergual line, entirely surrounded by a circular Latin legend reading from upper right and continuing around the periphery, with the inscription divided by the royal portrait. The engraving exhibits the neo-classical style typical of mid-19th century Viennese die work, with fine detail in the drapery and regalia.
