Obverse description Crowned bust of Archduke Ferdinand I facing left, wearing an ornate crown and armored collar, rendered in the bold relief typical of early sixteenth-century Habsburg hammered coinage. A beaded inner circle surrounds the effigy, separating it from the circumferential Latin legend in the outer field. The portrait displays characteristic Renaissance engraving with strongly delineated facial features and stylized hair. A cross pattée appears at the top of the legend as a punctuation mark.

The shield is rendered in hammered relief with fine internal detail. A beaded inner circle frames the arms, and the date 1525 appears within the legend above the shield.
