Obverse description Full-length effigy of Archduke Ferdinand Karl in elaborate armour, standing facing right within a beaded laurel wreath border, holding a sceptre in his right hand and an orb in his left. The figure is crowned and richly detailed, with finely engraved plate armour and a cloak draped over the shoulders. The peripheral Latin legend reads FERDINAND CAROL D G ARCHID AVST, separated by decorative stops, surrounding the wreath frame. The coin exhibits the characteristic high-relief hammered craftsmanship of the Hall mint during the seventeenth century.
