Obverse descriptionThe central part is dominated by the coat of arms of the Republic of Croatia placed on a layer of laurel leaves. The entire display is surrounded by a circle. In the lower semicircle, horizontally, is laid the old Croatian braided ornamentation, a relief decoration made of three multi-striped rods. Braided ornamentation is woven between the laurel leaves and the lower part of the coat of arms of the Republic of Croatia, connecting the outer left and right edge of the ducat. Between the outer edge and the edge of the circle that bounds the display, in the upper part of this zone, the inscription `REPUBLIC OF CROATIA` is written in a semicircle, and in the lower part of the zone, the inscription `JEDAN DUKAT` is written.
