| Obverse description | Central device depicts a standing stag facing left, posed upon a rectangular pedestal bearing the initial 'S', with an elaborate tree or antlered branch rising behind the animal. The stag, rendered in fine relief, is the heraldic emblem of the County of Stolberg. A circular legend surrounds the central device within a beaded border, naming the two co-ruling counts. The field is polished and the overall style is characteristic of refined German Baroque coinage of the mid-eighteenth century. |
