| Additional information |
Christian V issued this ducat to commemorate the rebuilding of Frederiksborg Slot after the catastrophic fire of 1665 destroyed portions of the castle complex. The fortress framing of the piece reflects Christian's deliberate program of absolutist architectural patronage — he had assumed absolute monarchy in Denmark-Norway just over a decade earlier, in 1660, and royal building projects carried explicit political weight throughout his reign.
Fr#148 is scarce in any condition. Surviving examples appear predominantly in Scandinavian institutional collections.
