Obverse description Equestrian portrait of King Christian V facing right, depicted in full royal regalia including a plumed hat and period costume, holding a baton in his raised right hand. The king rides a prancing horse moving to the right across a ground line with foliate detail. The composition fills the field in a bold, high-relief Baroque style typical of late 17th-century Danish coinage. The circumference is bordered by a fine milled or toothed inner rim. The royal legend encircles the effigy, invoking his titles as King of Denmark, Norway, the Wends, and the Goths.
