| Reverse description | Central cartouche formed by a ribbon-tied wreath or scroll motif, flanked on either side by crowned heraldic shields, bears the Roman numeral date M DCC LXIX (1769) in four lines within the field. Surmounting the cartouche is a displayed eagle with spread wings, serving as the Hohenzollern dynastic emblem. The circular Latin legend FELIX CONIUNCTIO· arcs across the upper portion of the coin, translating as 'happy union,' commemorating the acquisition of the Margraviate of Bayreuth. The mintmaster's initial S is visible in the lower exergual area. The overall design conveys the dynastic and territorial significance of the union between Ansbach and Bayreuth. |
