Obverse description Draped bust of Count Christian Ernest facing right, wearing a flowing wig with curled locks rendered in high relief. The effigy is depicted in armor with decorative drapery at the shoulder. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, reading from the lower left and continuing around the periphery of the field.

Reverse description Ornate, elaborately mantled shield bearing the manifold quartered arms of the County of Stolberg-Wernigerode, surmounted by a crowned helmet with decorative lambrequins. A chain of order encircles the central shield. The date appears above the crown at the top of the field, and the mintmaster's initials are placed in the exergue below the shield.
