Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of Elector Karl Theodor (Charles Theodore) with flowing powdered wig rendered in high relief, wearing armour with an elaborate decorative gorget visible at the truncation. The mint mark 'S' appears at the base of the bust truncation. A circular Latin legend encircles the effigy, reading from the lower left around the periphery, abbreviating the Elector's full titles as Count Palatine of the Rhine and Arch-Steward of the Holy Roman Empire. The coin is struck within a beaded border.
