Obverse description Conjoined busts of Charles Theodore, Elector Palatine, and his consort Elisabeth Auguste facing right, both with elaborate period dress and curled wigs; Charles Theodore is depicted in armour with lace cravat, Elisabeth Auguste in draped bodice with jewelled ornament. The legend encircles the busts along the beaded border, with an abbreviated inscription below the busts referencing their ducal and electoral titles. The portrait group is rendered in high relief in a vigorous Baroque style.
