| Reverse description | Crowned coat of arms of Regensburg displayed at centre, consisting of a shield bearing a six-spoked wheel — the traditional heraldic device of the see — supported by ornate mantling and surmounted by an elaborate princely crown with cross finial. The legend DUCATUS — RATISBON. is disposed in the upper field to either side of the crown, while the date 1809 appears in the exergue below the shield. The overall composition is richly detailed in the German baroque-influenced heraldic tradition, with flowing lambrequins flanking the central arms. A beaded border encloses the design. |
