Obverse description Conjoined draped busts of Elector Charles Theodore and Elisabeth Augusta facing right, both in contemporary court dress with elaborate lace and decorative orders at the neck; Charles Theodore appears in the foreground wearing a cuirass, his hair tied with a ribbon bow. The circular legend reads C. PHIL. THEODOR. & M. ELISA. AUGUSTA around the upper field, while the lower exergue bears the inscription C. F. RD. B. P. CM. DVG. SVR. The portrait style is characteristic of mid-eighteenth-century German baroque engraving, with fine detailing in the hair and drapery.
