| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Elector Charles Theodore occupying the central field, rendered in high relief in the Baroque manner with curled wig tied at the nape with a ribbon bow and lace-trimmed collar visible at the truncation. The engraver's initials ST appear below the bust truncation. The circular Latin legend surrounding the portrait reads CAR • THEODOR • D • G • C • P • R • V • B • D • S • R • I • A • & EL • D • I • C • & M •, denoting his full Electoral and palatine titles. The coin exhibits a finely milled edge and a well-struck, lustrous gold surface characteristic of Munich Mint production of the late 18th century. |
