The date 1593 appears prominently at the top of the field divided by small ornamental stops. The surrounding Latin legend DOMINVS FORTITVDO MEA ('The Lord is my strength') is distributed around the inner border, separated by small star-shaped ornaments, all within a beaded outer border.
