Obverse description Draped and laureate bust of Carl XI facing left, rendered in a stylized baroque manner with flowing hair falling over the shoulder. The royal effigy is set within a circular legend occupying the full field of the coin. The portrait is executed in a relatively primitive engraving style characteristic of provincial Swedish minting of the period. The circumferential legend in Latin is separated from the bust by the coin's raised rim.
