| Obverse description | Left-facing bust of Joan of Arc (Johanna) depicted in fine Art Nouveau relief, wearing an ornately decorated helmet with scrollwork and floral motifs, her hair flowing beneath the visor and a draped pauldron visible at the truncation. The portrait is rendered with elegant linear detail characteristic of mid-twentieth century German medallic art. The circumferential legend is divided into two arcs: IOHANNA with a small star separator and the birth year 1412 across the upper field, and GALLIA with the commemorative year 1962 along the right side. |

| Reverse description | Central motif consisting of a six-armed cross with elegantly curved arms terminating in stylized fleur-de-lis and foliate lily blossoms in the angles between each arm, evoking the heraldic imagery of medieval France. At the center of the cross, within a shaped cartouche, appears the denomination I DUCAT in two lines. The fineness mark 980 is inscribed at the base of the lower arm. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire design, reading PRO PROSPERITATE MUNDI across the upper portion and AUREUS MAGNUS along the lower, separated by small rosette stops at each side. |
