Reverse description Central motif consisting of an elaborate ornamental cross with eight radiating branches, each terminating in stylized floral and foliate elements, evoking a medieval heraldic or ecclesiastical cross pattée design. The denomination I DUCAT is inscribed within a central shield or cartouche at the crossing of the arms, with the fineness mark 980 appearing just below. The circular legend PRO PROSPERITATE MUNDI arcs across the upper field, while AUREUS MAGNUS is inscribed along the lower field, all in raised Latin lettering against a mirror-polished proof field.
