| Obverse description | Armored and draped bust of Archbishop Anselm Casimir Wambolt von Umstadt facing slightly to the right, depicted with short beard and elaborate ecclesiastical armor featuring decorative relief work across the breastplate. The effigy is contained within a raised inner circle, with the Latin legend running along the outer border of the coin. The portrait is rendered in the robust, high-relief style characteristic of early seventeenth-century German hammered gold coinage. |

| Reverse description | The quartered electoral arms of Mainz displayed prominently in the center of the field, comprising the wheel of Mainz in the first and fourth quarters and the arms of the Wambolt von Umstadt family in the second and third quarters, surmounted by an elaborate coroneted cartouche with foliate scrollwork. The date 1629 is divided across the field to either side of the central shield. A circular Latin legend surrounds the arms within the raised border, proclaiming this a new gold ducat of the Elector of Mainz. |
