Reverse description Five-line Latin inscription set within a square tablet surmounted by a baroque decorative frame. Beneath the tablet, the arms of Amsterdam — three Saint Andrew's crosses on a shield — appear prominently in the lower field. The inscription identifies the coin as lawful gold coinage of the United Belgian Provinces. The overall composition follows the standard reverse type of the Dutch provincial ducat, here rendered with the added weight and relief characteristic of a piedfort striking.
