| Obverse description | Draped bust of Adolph von Dalberg facing right, wearing a lace cravat and period ecclesiastical dress with decorative armor elements. The hair is rendered in elaborate curls falling to the shoulder in the baroque manner. A circular legend surrounds the effigy reading ADOLPHVS D G S R I PR S AB FULDE A PR & GR, identifying him as Prince-Abbot of Fulda and Prince of the Holy Roman Empire. The portrait is executed in fine high-relief baroque style characteristic of early eighteenth-century German coinage. |
